"Black Flower"
A black flower
Upon my lawn
Upon my eye
In the midst of dawn
A blade of grass
Entangled in the stem
Others, normal flowers
No one remembers them
A petal falls
Upon the ground
A child picks the flower
Pockets it- safe, sound
A petal remains
Upon the lawn
As is ending
The time of dawn
And upon the yard
Shall forever lay the memory
While the lives of the rest
Are only temporary
A stub of stem
Upon the grass
Also tells a story
And may last
Across the streets
In a meadow
Millions of flowers dance
In a wind show
A white flower
In such field
To all bees
Is a yield
A boy so love struck
To pick it up
And puts it with water
Into a cup
The same young girl
Now had a white and a black
The single black petal
Is all she did lack
And in a scrapbook
They both lie
Memories of a boy and girl
Who were never shy
IDOMAD, 2007
Now had a white and a black
The single black petal
Is all she did lack
And in a scrapbook
They both lie
Memories of a boy and girl
Who were never shy
