You give away control of your heart
And you've given away your soul-
And in losing them you paid
The poverty- inflicting toll.

Don't give up now-
Don't you see-
All that you could be?

A dream on the horizon
You can't seem to reach;
Security of enemies
That cannot be breached.

Don't give up now,
You are on your way-
You'll be there
someday.

A plan goes astray
With so little to guide-
Just think- it was confidence,
Not hope, that died.
