"A Tear in the Eye"

A child cries
Because of the tear in the eyes
Of mankind
A hole in the eye
So that we don't see the world
As complete, as she does

A tear in the eyes of a child
Because we unknowingly ignore
All that she is-
All that she subtly stands for
And yet in ten years
She, too, will forget

Tears in the heart of a child
All because of the crushing crime of the world
A parent who doesn't like to spend time
With or on teaching her darling;
Behold, ten years hence
When she, too, gives up on life

A tear in the eyes of mankind
Because one day, she, too will be confined
And yet she cries but not knows why
And yet a concept of fairness slowly dies
Inside her, and her heart is torn
Long after she was born

A tear in the eye of mankind
Covers the light of children which once shined
A tear in the eye of a girl
Because of the stupidity of the world
A tear in what we all mean
Because of a change in mind unforeseen
