I Believe

"I Believe"

I believe in each day I wake up-
I believe in this life-
I believe I have to stand for something-
And find for myself what I believe is right.

I believe I have to be my own person-
Find my own strengths and shortcomings-
I believe that I will never be alone-
That I will always find friends by my side.

I believe that come tomorrow I'll still have two homes,
That no one will leave me on my own;
I believe that there are better days ahead,
And I believe in all my friends.

I believe in everything having a purpose,
I believe in taking something from each day-
And dreaming all the while you think.
I believe in life and in death- in nature.

I believe in the impossible-
I believe in the unknown-
I believe in shame, disgrace, and guilt-
But what I struggle most to believe in-
Is myself.
