"Memories"
November days, oh so past
Family around, here to last-
Running wild, in the snow
No worries, time went slow.
Snowy morning, all through the night,
Thanksgiving, all was right...
Snowball fight in the barn-
Boys and girls, no real harm.
I was the youngest, going up and down,
On those leads, wedgies didn't make me frown!
Wet to the bone, we were having fun-
I never wanted it to be done.
January rolled about, just the same
Snowball fights- one big game
But by April things weren't right
My mom had to fight for life
Five months of trial and strife...
She pulled through, won the war
She knew just what she was fighting for.
Then a fight tore the family
My closest friend distant, stranding me
Leaving me to find security anew
And after struggling, I found it, too.
A year after the family was torn,
A new member of it was born.
I sat in the waiting room after school,
I couldn't stay, but that was cool,
I went to a friends, barely slept...
The moments of the next day barely crept,
After school, I ate ice cream...
Then went to see the baby, his mother's dream.
My parents moved, I had two homes,
A couple who love me as their own.
Then the friends I had searched for
Helped me win the internal war.
I remember the last day of school,
We were dorks, didn't care to be cool.
We dressed up just for fun-
Through the park, to sit and run.
That meant the world to me
And I knew that that is where i was supposed to be.
