"Seeing through Black"
The world is full of children, tucked into bed
Clenching the covers over their heart;
Scared of what lurks in the surrounding darkness-
Scared of what hides in the closet-
What is concealed in the darkness.
Scared to jump out of what they call comfort-
Jump out of what they know so well
To strive and see through the darkness-
To find what is in store
Beyond their heart,
And in their mind-
Able to perceive
The difference between reality
And what each feels in his heart.
