I Would Wish

If I could have one wish,
I wouldn't wish for money galore-
I wouldn't wish for my dreams to come true-
I'd ask for less, not more.

I wouldn't wish for fame,
And I wouldn't wish to be pretty;
I wouldn't wish to be a queen,
And I wouldn't wish for the key to some city.

I wouldn't wish to be a superhero
Or a super villain at that
(Though the latter might be fun
For a matter of fact)...

I wouldn't get revenge on people,
Or protection from all that's wrong;
I wouldn't wish to live forever-
Forever might be too long.

Life isn't perfect,
And wishes won't make it that way.
So I'd wish you could have a wish...
And see if you'd give it away.
