Don't Forget Me

Don't walk away from me-
Like you think I don't care;
Don't say I pretended-
Or just acted like I was there.

Don't give me that look-
It cuts me deeper than you think,
Because not even a poet
Can mend a heart with ink.

Don't tell people it was all my fault-
Like I planned to hurt you;
I'm not cold or heartless,
And this hurt me too.

Don't think I took this easily,
'Cause I didn't, you can see;
I will never forget you
Please don't forget me.
